Plan approved for developing Salt Lake City’s Northwest Quadrant

SALT LAKE CITY – The Redevelopment Agency of Salt Lake City (RDA) announced today a major step in the strategic development of the Northwest Quadrant (NWQ), a 3,000-acre area north of Interstate 80 at the western boundary of Salt Lake City.

At today’s RDA Board and Salt Lake City Council meetings, the RDA and Salt Lake City were authorized to enter development agreements with Kennecott Utah Copper and NWQ, LLC, over zoning and property taxes.

Amazon to build new 855,000 square-foot distribution center in Salt Lake City

Today, Amazon made it official, the retail giant will build a $250-million regional fulfillment center in Salt Lake City’s budding Northwest Quadrant, bringing with it at least 1,500 full time well-paying jobs, with the possibility of thousands more in seasonal positions.

Salt Lake City to launch ambitious plan to prepare Northwest Quadrant for economic development

On Monday, December 5th, Mayor Jackie Biskupski will kick-off, an aggressive two-year plan to build an infrastructure backbone and develop an economic implementation plan for the city’s Northwest Quadrant, prime land directly west of Salt Lake City International Airport, and the International Center.
